Lock screen quickly in OS X Snow Leopard

So I’ve started bringing my personal MacBook Pro to work on occasion to use at lunch for personal tasks and also sometimes througought the day in lieu of my work-issued Dell.  The Dell is tiny, underpowered, and has about 30 minutes of battery life before it dies (what’s the point of an ultra-portable notebook when [...]

Headlines from Ars I find interesting…

Rumor: AT&T may finally announce iPhone tethering this week. For those who don’t know what this is, essentially tethering allows you to hook up your iphone to your computer and use it as a wireless modem–surf the web, play games, etc. through your phone’s 3G/Edge/GPRS signal.  Question though is how much extra will this be? [...]

The Big Three’s New Bailout Ad

I don’t know where this actually originiated, so I’ll link to the place I found it, which in turn seems to link to the image somewhere else.  Nonetheless, I’m re-posting it here, you know, in the spirit of sharing on the internets. Offensive words slip into Nintendo’s Animal Crossing

Nintendo sent some media outlets copies of Wild World, an Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo DS.  Apparently you can share and import some of the player-created content into the Nintendo Wii’s console version of Animal Crossing.   Wired’s reporting that somehow a player managed to get around Nintendo’s content filters and inserted an offensive word [...]

Steve Scher does it again: makes a “wiki” on the air

If you know me, you know that I can’t resist any opportunity to lambast Steve Scher, Senior Host of KUOW’s Weekday program here on Seattle’s NPR station.  Now, Steve Scher in the past has had some real awesome shows…again if you’ll know me you’ll know these are three of my favorites: “Best pho restaurants in [...]

This viral campaign makes me puke

So I have two “WTF” factors for this post.  One is Fred, the other is the ZipIt.  There is this YouTube dude called Fred (his YouTube page) (or his home page).  I just don’t get it.  I don’t get it at all.  I stumbled upon his blog post from Videogum, which talks about how Fred [...]

Best iPhone/iPod Touch Game Review: Enigmo

So today my co-worker brought in her new “iTouch” which she’s purchased for her upcomming extended travels.  She was talking about how she downloaded PacMan, and I was trying to show her some of the games I’ve downloaded. I thought I’d tell her about Enigmo, which is, according to creator Pangeasoft: Enigmo is the most [...]
