So, Lilly commented and asked:

“…have you heard anything about a new Nano being released next week? I heard that from a guy at Costco, but I don’t believe that is a reliable source.

Any news of an anticipated new Nano? I heard it was going to be announced on the 9th and then released on the 10th or 11th.”

See this is why I own Costco stock–they pay enough to hire employees who actually follow news about the products they sell.  Anyway, I’m going to have to again default to MacRumors which states that the “Let’s Rock” media event will debut 4th-generation iPod Nanos, which are taller, curvier, and skinner.  No more “fatboy” Nanos it appears–this seems more like the original line of Nanos with bigger screens.

Check out this photo via Engadget of a reportedly real iPod Nano 4th gen in its packaging.  Note the giant screen (relatively speaking) and the return of the orange color that was available on the Shuffles for awhile.
