As reported on Reuters, Apple announced it is still on track to sell 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. Furthermore, they’ll be announcing details next week about the much-anticipated iPhone SDK which will allow 3rd-party developers to create more robust apps for the phone. This will not only provide users with an expanded library of things like games and productivity software, but also hopefully things such as Outlook integration which have kept some business-minded customers from switching.Apple itself alluded to new features which they’ll release, targeted at luring more business users. It’s not clear what exactly these features will be, but I personally know many business users who are running Windows Mobile devices who have been eagerly anticipating iPhone compatibility with their corporate Exchange servers. Such compatibility could entice a whole new wave of users to make the switch from a WinMo or a BlackBerry device. On a personal note, I am happy to see the announcement has stopped the downward spiral of Apple’s stock. w00t.
