I’ve been a little infrequent with my posting these days but I have just gone through what I consider to be a pretty amazingly difficult week that explains my lack of ability to post.

With it being Thanksgiving I wanted to mention how thankful I am for a few things. I’m thankful that even though my parents use dial-up internet when I have their iBook and my PowerBook sitting next to each other I can multi-task with the best of them. I’m thankful for the holiday season films. These are the big Oscar contenders and I like what I’ve seen so far with movies like ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’ and ‘Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead’. I’m thankful for hulu.com finally giving me my invitation to join up with the beta testing (see other post) but most of all I’m thankful for the way technology brings me closer to the people I love when I need them most.

This week I’ve had to call 911 twice and both times used my cell phone, I’ve looked up an address of where to send the ambulance on facebook and I’ve called for help when my car broke down. To me technology isn’t just about the latest gadget or best way to watch a movie, it’s about advancing human-kind and bringing people closer together, not farther apart. So, this week I’m thankful for many things but most of all for the people who are there for me when I need them most.
