Don’t update your h@x0red iPhone

It appears that Apple’s latest software update for the iPhone has the potential to disable the use of some handsets that were unlocked through some of the many unlocking methods that have surfaced since the handset launch. The update was supposed to be for minor fixes and the addition of the iTunes WiFi Music Store, and not specifically to re-lock or disable unlocked devices. But who knows for sure.
Engadget just posted an iPhone update: facts and fiction article with a detailed breakdown of what the update does and who should upgrade or consider waiting. If you’ve unlocked your phone, it’s worth a read so make sure you don’t brick your device.
